New River Watercolor, Series IV, #4

New River Watercolor, Series IV, #4 - 1988 shows soft washes on paper, with pale blue and grey spreading in loose layers.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The marks seem to move like water finding its own path. John Cage worked with chance operations, and this let the pigment settle without a fixed plan.

The paper is matte, so the washes stay quiet and there is no shine under a lamp. You can place it in a hallway where the morning light comes in sideways, and the pale bands look steady from the bottom step.
