United Blue, Yellow, Green on Red — Fine Art

United Blue, Yellow, Green on Red - 1954 uses broad painted bands stacked on the sheet. Mark Rothko layered the tones so the edges stay blurred where they meet. The picture belongs to post war American abstraction, where colour carries the whole feeling.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The print arrives with a metal hanger fitted to the back, so it goes up on a nail or screw without a separate frame. The matte paper keeps the colours from shining back under a lamp.

It works in a hallway where the light stays even and the pass is quick. A person walking past sees the stacked bands first, then the small shifts between the blue and the green. The metal hanger holds it level without a second step.
