About this work
Eudocia - 1967 shows a figure drawn with loose pencil lines and a washed wash of grey. The lines wander and cross in a way that reads as a quick sketch of a woman. Norman Bluhm often drew this way, letting the hand move fast.
A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel keeps those faint pencil lines soft. The matte paper does not reflect light, so the grey tones stay even under a lamp.
It fits a bedroom wall above a narrow desk. From the bed you see the wider shape of the figure, and from the desk you catch the small crooked strokes.
