Abstract Composition by Paul Jenkins shows soft bands of colour laid down in a poured paint technique. The colour fields shift slowly from one tone to the next, so the surface reads as a quiet wash rather than a hard edge. You see the broad bands first, then the thinner streaks that cross them.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame finish can follow the room. A light frame on a dark wall lets the pale tones stay open, while a wood frame beside wooden furniture ties the piece to the joinery.

It works on a hallway wall between two doors, hung a little above the handrail. From the landing you catch the slow colour change across the bands, and from the far end you notice the small streaks that cross the field.
