Baron in Al Held-Veld — Fine Art

Baron in Al Held-Veld - 1966 shows hard edged colour bands crossing the sheet. The flat shapes meet at sharp corners.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. Ralston Crawford worked with measured geometry and clear boundaries. The painted surface stays matte, so each band reads as a flat block of tone. The finish on the frame can follow the room.

A light frame on a dark wall keeps the edges crisp. A dark frame on a pale wall gives the shapes a firm outline. You notice the clean joins from the hallway door.
