Baron in Al Held-Veld

Baron in Al Held-Veld - 1966 shows a plain ground with a single figure placed on it. The figure is built from soft colour areas and a few sharp edges. Raoul De Keyser often worked with flat colour and simple forms in his abstract paintings.

The print is on fine art paper with a matte finish, so the colours read softly on the wall. A light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall sets the figure apart.

In a bedroom, the image holds a corner above a bedside table. The soft field stays calm at night, and the single shape reads clearly from the bed.
