Opponents — Fine Art

Opponents - 2007 shows two dark shapes facing each other on a muted background. The colours stay low and close, so the division between them feels soft rather than hard. Raoul De Keyser often works with simple marks that hold a quiet tension.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The finish follows the room you choose. A light frame sits on a dark wall, or a dark frame goes on a pale wall. A wood frame beside wooden furniture keeps the tone steady.

It fits on a hallway wall where the light comes from one side. You see the two shapes first, then the small changes in tone as you pass by.
