About this work
Untitled Blue Red - 1973 by Robert Goodnough shows two broad colour fields set over a plain ground. Blue and red each fill their own area, and the edges where they meet are soft. The painted surface has a handmade feel that points to the abstract expressionist movement.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The finished print sits on a matte paper, so the blues and reds stay flat and there is no shine under a lamp.
It fits on the side wall of a dining room, where the blue and red fields read as two separate colour patches. From the table you notice the two colour areas first, and from the doorway the painted edges stay clear.
