Snow — Fine Art

Snow - 1982 holds a light ground with a few dark strokes placed across it. The marks sit near the center and leave much of the page open. Toko Shinoda works with ink and lets the paper show through the strokes.

You can see the brush moving and stopping in the same line. The fine art print keeps that spacing so the eye rests on the empty parts. A frame in a pale finish sits well on a darker wall, or a dark frame on a pale wall.

Hang it on the study wall at a height where the light from the desk lamp falls across the surface. From the chair you notice the thin crossings first and then the quiet field around them. The fine art print reads the same from the doorway as it does from the desk.
