Scenery of Guilin

Scenery of Guilin - 1973 lines a river valley with layered hills that rise one behind the other.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Thin strokes of green and grey build the slopes, while a pale band of water runs through the middle.

The eye moves from the front ridge into the distance, and the empty sky keeps the mountains quiet. Wu Guanzhong worked in this ink and colour style throughout his career, blending calligraphic brushwork with a modern layout.
