30.7.75

The title 30.7.75 - 1975 points to a field of painted colour and gesture. The surface holds broad strokes and layered paint in a loose arrangement.

This sits within the abstract painting practice of John Hoyland, where colour and movement take the lead. The work arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel, so it stands ready on the wall.

A matte finish keeps the tone even and soft. The heavy marks stay clear without glare. It suits a reading corner above a low desk lamp, where the broad forms pull the eye and the quiet light lets the paint read plainly.
