About this work
A Curved Line Within Two Distorted Rectangles 1978 shows a single curved mark set between two bent rectangles. The drawing uses thin black lines on a pale ground. The form stays simple. Robert Mangold worked with measured line drawing and geometric motifs during the postwar graphic art period.
This fine art print comes with a frame in white, wood, dark wood or black. The frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A black frame keeps the pale ground open, while a white frame echoes the drawn rectangles.
Hang it in a study on the wall beside a desk. From the chair you see the curved line first, then the two rectangles. The measured marks stay readable in the morning light.
