Aegean — Fine Art

Aegean - 1967 by Ben Nicholson shows a few pale lines over a muted ground. The colours sit close together, so the light shapes read against the darker field. White and grey marks rest over a soft blue grey. A thin line crosses near the top.

The print comes as a fine art piece on a matte surface. The lack of shine keeps the grey tones steady under a lamp, and a light frame on a dark wall lets the pale marks stand out.

It hangs on the study wall above the desk. From the chair you see the wide pale band first, then the small pencil like lines when you pass by.
