Ahatfenster 2009 4 — Fine Art

Ahatfenster 2009 4 moves across the sheet with strokes that carry a quick pressure. The marks sit in thin bands that do not line up at the edges. Sigmar Polke works with a ragged spray and a roughened ground.

You can see the speed in each pass. The surface holds a flat field with small breaks where the mark thins out. A fine art frame in black gives the picture a firm edge.

The black finish sits tight against the band lines and keeps the open ground clear. The picture reads well on a hallway wall near a switch. From the landing you catch the dark bands first, then the thin breaks as you move closer.
