Aile de Papillon — Fine Art

Wols works in a loose gestural way with pools of paint and thin runs of colour. Aile de Papillon - Tachisme follows that method with irregular blotches and drips that spread across the sheet. The marks do not form a clear subject, they leave open space between them.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a frame. The surface stays matte so the thin paint lines do not catch a glare.

It hangs on a hallway wall near the stairs. From the landing you see the rough patches of colour, and on the step below the thin runs stand out against the plaster.
