About this work
Anaglyphic View, Moon Rocks, Stereoscopic Image of Lunar Surface - 1973 shows two flat images stacked one above the other. A red tint covers one layer and a blue tint covers the other. Thin lines mark the rocks and the ground.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The eye moves between the two layers and the empty space between them holds the weight. Nancy Graves studied lunar surfaces and made the distance between the two views feel real.
The matte paper keeps the soft red and blue without shine under a lamp. Hang it on a wall beside a desk at a height where the two layers read clearly. From the desk chair you notice the small line marks between the tints, and from the doorway the two blocks sit separate on the wall.
