Aphrodite Study — Fine Art

Aphrodite Study - 1993 by Brice Marden works from a late twentieth century abstract tradition. The picture sets a few long bands across a muted field. The bands shift in tone as they move, with soft edges where one band meets the next.

A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds the composition flat and steady. The frame keeps the edges clean, and the back panel gives the piece a solid feel on the wall. You see the soft colour changes without glare from the surface.

It suits a study wall above a wooden desk. From the chair you notice the long bands first, then the quiet tones as you sit and read. The warm greys settle beside a stack of books and a lamp base.
