Before the Blitz 1923 by Paul Klee has a busy page of small lines and dots over a light ground. The marks sit close together and leave open spaces between them.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. From the other side of the room the shapes read as one pale field with darker groups. Up close the separate strokes become clear.

The paper is matte, so the light parts stay flat and there is no shine under a lamp. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and the print goes straight onto a nail or screw. It sits well on a hallway wall where the light is steady and you notice the small marks first.
