About this work
Berlin Blues 6 - 1966 shows a stretch of blue paint laid across the surface with a broad brush. The marks run from one side to the other, some darker than the rest. William Scott left the brushwork plain, without filling in the gaps.
This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The print keeps the blue tones steady and the frame hides the raw edges. You can hang it ready to hang when the option is chosen, so the panel stays flat against the wall.
It suits a study wall above a desk, where the desk lamp throws a small pool of light on the blue marks. From the doorway you see the sweep of paint, and from the chair you notice the uneven brush edges.
