About this work
Bleu-Vert-Jaune-Orange - 1954 is built from four colour bands that cross the sheet in straight lines. The bands run in sequence and meet at clean edges. Francois Morellet made this kind of geometric abstraction with simple rules and repeated shapes. The colours sit side by side without blending.
The finish is a fine art print on smooth paper that keeps each band sharp and the lettering clear. A light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall lets the colour edges stay readable. A wood frame beside wooden furniture keeps the look plain and direct.
It fits a study wall above a desk where the light lands flat. From the chair you see the four colour bands in order, and the small gaps between them stay clear.
