About this work
Boats at Martigues 1908 shows a row of boats pulled up on the water side of a town. Raoul Dufy keeps the shore simple and lets the boats sit along the lower edge.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. Space opens above them, so the eye moves from the hulls toward the sky. The paper is matte, which keeps the blues and greens even under lamp light.
A metal hanger is fixed to the back, so the sheet goes onto a nail without a frame. It suits a kitchen wall above the sink, where you notice the boat shapes while washing dishes.
