Book and Guitar 1925

Book and Guitar 1925 shows a guitar and a book placed on a flat ground. The shapes are cut out in clear planes of colour. Space around them stays open. Juan Gris worked in a cubist style that breaks objects into overlapping planes.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The piece arrives ready to hang with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need a separate frame. The matte surface keeps the colour planes flat under indoor light.

In a kitchen, the open space lets the picture breathe above a counter. From the doorway the planes line up across the wall, and the quiet tones stay calm while you wait for the kettle.
