About this work
Bouquet de Fleurs Pour le Quatorze Juillet 1919 shows flowers gathered in a loose bunch. Henri Matisse painted the stems and petals with quick marks and brighter colour patches. The composition leaves space around the bloom, so each petal keeps its own edge.
This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The paper is matte, which holds the yellow and red tones without a shine. With the ready to hang option it arrives assembled and ready to mount on a wall.
Above a desk near a window the flower shapes read from across the desk. Move closer and the uneven pencil lines under the painted edges become visible. The light from the window falls on the frame, not into the surface.
