Brieve 1960 — Fine Art

Brieve 1960 shows a tightly drawn face with heavy shading and a pale ground. The nose and cheek hold the strongest tones, so the eye stays on the centre of the face.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. Ivan Albright built this kind of portrait study with slow pencil and paint work, line by line. The paper is matte, so the soft greys stay flat and the darker patches do not shine.

A metal hanger is fitted to the back, so you can set it on a nail or screw without a separate frame. You will see the small shading steps first in a narrow hallway, where the wall sits close and the face fills the view.
