Brown, Orange, Blue on Maroon — Fine Art

Brown, Orange, Blue on Maroon shows stacked fields of colour that seem to hover in front of the eye. Mark Rothko built these bands with thin layers of paint so the edges look blurred and the colours shift as you move.

This fine art print sits inside a frame with a clean border on the wall. Choose the white finish for a crisp line that separates the maroon ground from the room, or the dark wood finish for a quieter edge that lets the orange band stay forward.

Hang it on the wall beside the kitchen table where the morning light hits the maroon field first. From the counter you see the orange band step forward, and the blue band recedes under the cupboard. The colours read plainly while you pour coffee.
