Carmel Cypress — Fine Art

Carmel Cypress shows a tall tree rising over a coastal slope with a band of sea and sky behind it. The shapes sit in clear colour layers that look flat against each other. Eyvind Earle often built up landscapes with simple forms and steady lines.

The paper has a matte surface, so the colour layers keep their separation and the sea band stays soft under a lamp. The print comes as a ready to hang fine art sheet with the hanger already fixed. Nothing else needs to be bought to put it up.

It sits on the dining room wall over the sideboard, where the table shows the tree shape before the food is laid out. You see the flat colour bands from the doorway, then the thin trunk lines from the chair.
