Cascella II

Cascella II - 1952 opens on a painted field where brushwork moves in loose bands and gestures press into the surface. Richard Pousette-Dart works with paint laid in wide strokes and small repeated marks that read across the page. The colours stay flat and the edges stay soft.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. This print comes ready to hang. A metal hanger sits on the back and fits straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame is needed and the paper stays matte so the greys do not shine under a lamp.

On a dining room wall seen from the table you notice the broad strokes first. When you stand near the sideboard the small pencil marks show through the paint layer.
