About this work
Two rounded shapes sit near the narrow frame that holds them, and the eye moves from one form to the other before resting on the empty space in the middle. Cell Eyes and Mirrors 1993 uses that simple balance of form and gap.
Louise Bourgeois made work that often sets biomorphic figures inside a cage or on a wall. The print arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel.
It hangs ready when the ready to hang option is used, and the panel keeps the surface flat against the wall. The matte face softens the tones so the rounded shapes do not glare in a lit room. It fits a hallway wall where the shapes read from the door and the small shifts in tone show when you pass.
