Cercles de Nuit — Fine Art

Cercles de Nuit - 1992 by Piero Dorazio shows soft bands and curves of colour that move across the picture. The painted shapes sit close together, with some areas left bare. You see a late abstract style built from sweeping colour rather than hard lines.

A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel rounds out the picture. The matte paper keeps the pale tones from turning bright under a lamp, so the colours stay even.

It works on a dining room wall where the evening light comes in low and warm. From that spot the broad colour bands read clearly, and the thin bare spaces hold the eye.
