Ceret Lanscape by Chaim Soutine — Fine Art

Ceret Lanscape by Chaim Soutine uses a warm brown ground with darker patches of green and blue. The paint is worked in loose strokes that leave the surface uneven. You can see where the brush moved back and forth across the picture.

This fine art print sits inside a frame with a back panel, so the picture holds its own shape on the wall. The matte paper does not shine, which keeps the brown and green tones even when a lamp is on in the room.

In a kitchen, the picture sits on the wall above the sink. From the doorway you notice the dark green strokes first, and the brown ground fills the rest of the wall.
