About this work
Champs de blé - 1949 shows a wheat field drawn in straight lines and soft blocks of colour. The marks sit in layers across the sheet, with pale sky tones at the top and warmer fields below. The style belongs to the French post war painting period, where loose brushwork and broad colour areas were common.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte surface keeps the pale ground tones flat and there is no shine under a lamp.
It fits above a low desk in a study, where the long horizontal lines settle the eye and the lighter sky area stays soft in morning light.
