Chiefs Blanket — Fine Art

Chiefs Blanket - 1989 shows stacked fabric layers pressed into dense horizontal bands. The surface reads as woven strips cut and gathered into a solid mass. Arman built this kind of object from found textile material and assembled it without a clear pattern.

The white frame gives the picture a clean line around the heaped fabric. A dark wood frame would push the dark strips forward and make the pile look heavier. This fine art print keeps the rough edges of the original material.

It works above a low desk in a study. From the chair you see the thick bands running across the top, and the small cuts in the fabric show when you stand near the desk.
