Chinese Planet — Fine Art

Chinese Planet by Sam Francis spreads a wash of blue across the sheet. A second band of yellow sits beneath it and the thin white line between them keeps the two tones apart.

The colours sit on a flat ground and the paint stays open at the edges. This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel, and it arrives assembled when you choose the ready to hang option.

The frame gives the wet colour a clean border and the back panel keeps the sheet flat against the wall. It works above the long desk in a study, where you see the blue field first and the yellow band lower down. From the doorway the picture reads as two colour planes, and closer you notice where the paint thins out at the edge.
