About this work

Chris Foss by Chris Foss

Chris Foss by Chris Foss shows broad colour blocks arranged in a horizontal band. Thick paint layers build a busy surface with reds, yellows and blue.

The title names the artist directly. This fine art print keeps those saturated pigments on a matte sheet.

The paper does not shine, so the reds stay warm and the blues do not glare under a lamp. A light frame sits on a dark hallway wall, with the print placed high enough that the colours meet your sight line from the stairs. You notice the sharp edges of the painted blocks before the small cracks in the paint layer.
