Companion

Companion - 1979 by Doug Ohlson opens on soft colour fields that hold a quiet mood across the sheet. The shapes stay simple and the edges feel calm.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The work belongs to postwar painting that trusts flat colour and plain form. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. No frame is needed and the sheet is ready to go up.

The paper is matte so the colour does not flash under a lamp. It suits a bedroom wall above the bed. From the doorway the soft shapes read as one tone, and near the pillow the edge of the sheet shows a thin paper grain.
