Composition 1

Composition 1 by Sonia Delaunay uses flat colour fields laid beside one another. The forms repeat in a steady rhythm across the sheet. Strong contrasts between warm and cool tones give the surface its energy. The picture sits within the abstract practice Sonia Delaunay developed over many years.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The paper is matte so the flat tones stay even under a lamp. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a frame.

In a kitchen, the repeated shapes read well on a tiled wall. From the doorway you notice the rhythm first, close up you see the colour shifts between the fields.
