Composition

Composition - 1947 by Nicolas de Stael uses thick paint laid over a dark ground. Blocks of ochre and blue sit close together, with sharp cuts between them. The surface reads as layered strokes rather than flat colour.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel and arrives assembled when the ready to hang option is used. The matte surface keeps the dark greens and warm ochres from reflecting a lamp.
