Composition with Blue — Fine Art

Composition with Blue by Piet Mondrian arranges a blue area among plain ground and thin black lines. The blue shape stands apart, cut by a black grid. The image stays clear and spare. Piet Mondrian used straight marks, flat colour and a restrained layout in his practice.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black, and gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the blue plane separate from the room. A black frame sits close to the black grid lines.

It works on a narrow landing wall where the day light falls across it. From the stairs you see the blue block and the thin lines; standing closer you notice the white ground around the blue shape.
