Correspondence Red-White, side B - 1966 shows two colour fields placed beside one another. The red side meets a white side along a straight edge. Leon Polk Smith worked in hard edge painting with flat colour planes.

The picture leaves little space between the two tones. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds the image. The matte paper keeps the red and white soft without a shine.

It hangs ready on a wall. A narrow hallway wall gives the colours room to breathe. From the far end the two blocks read as one long line.
