Courbet

Courbet by Gerhard Richter carries the name of a nineteenth century painter, yet the sheet shows scraped lines of grey and white that shift across the page. The marks move in one direction and leave a soft edge where the paint thins out.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. A white frame or a wood frame gives the picture a clear edge against the image, and the matte surface keeps the grey tones from catching a strong shine.

This print fits on a study wall where you see the broad grey sweep first and the small hand marks later when you stand near the desk.
