Ears of Wheat by Vincent van Gogh shows upright stalks with grain heads reaching toward the top of the picture. The paint is laid in broad strokes of yellow and green that leave a rough surface. Vincent van Gogh worked in oil on canvas and built his scenes with visible brushwork.
