About this work
Edge of Day - 1961 by Theodoros Stamos shows a plain field broken by a thin band near the top. The paint sits in one layer on the sheet, with a wash that fades toward the bottom. The mark looks more like a day opening than a sharp line.
A light frame on a dark wall keeps the pale band visible without glare. The fine art print on matte paper keeps the surface flat under a lamp, so the wash stays even and the edges do not shine.
On a study wall above a desk, you see the thin band first, then the fading field as you turn the page. The desk lamp gives a low glow from the left, and the room stays calm while you read.
