About this work
Eight Times 1929 by Wassily Kandinsky shows repeated forms set across the sheet. The marks appear in a loose rhythm, each one a little apart from the next.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. A straight line crosses the space between them. Up close the small strokes read more clearly than the big shapes across the room. The paper carries a matte surface, so the grey tones stay flat and do not shine under a lamp.
A dark frame on a pale wall lets the marks stand out without fighting the room. Hang it a little above eye level on a study wall, where the shadow from the desk light falls across the lower edge. You notice the repeated forms first, then the thin line that ties each one to the next.
