Erythea

Broad painted shapes sit on the sheet in Erythea - 1971. The ground is soft and the strokes move with weight. Norman Bluhm worked in post war abstraction, building forms with paint and gesture rather than drawing them in lines.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. That setup suits the loose painted zones, since the sheet can sit flush against the wall without a frame adding its own edge.

It hangs well on the stairwell wall where the light comes from one side. From the landing you see the big painted shapes, and the metal hanger stays out of sight behind the sheet.
