About this work
A single curved line runs across the sheet in Espejo Herido XV - 1990. The line changes pressure as it moves, lifting at one end and pressing hard near the middle. Manuel Rivera worked with this kind of gestural mark in his abstract practice. You can see the speed and the pause in the stroke.
This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the line edges soft and stops glare under a lamp. The frame holds the sheet flat and the back panel gives it a solid edge when you carry it.
It hangs on the hallway wall beside the front door. From the landing you read the long curve first. Standing in the hall you notice the thin fade at the tail of the line.
