About this work
Etchings to Rexroth #1 - 1986 shows a quiet field with thin lines crossing the page. The lines are drawn in pencil and sit on a pale ground. Brice Marden often worked with drawn marks on matte surfaces, so the graphite tones stay soft. The paper is matte, so the light greys stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp.
This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel. The frame holds the paper flat and the back panel keeps the edges clean.
It fits well on a kitchen wall near the sink. From the appliance you see the dark lines against the pale ground, and the space stays calm.
