About this work
First Landing Jump 1961 by Robert Rauschenberg shows a combined surface with paint and printed marks on a flat field. The work uses the transfer print method and mixes paint with paper, a habit in his combines practice. The ground stays pale and the marks sit on top without a clear outline.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The frame finish can follow the room, a light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall, and a wood frame beside wooden furniture.
It fits a study wall above a desk where you see the pale field and the marks at arm length, and the wood frame sits beside a shelf with books. From the chair you notice the mixed surface and the soft printed patches across the middle.
