About this work

Fischbr Otchen

Fischbr Otchen shows a fish shape cut from a printed page and placed on the sheet. The paper has grain from the print, and the fish is cut from a familiar printed image. Sigmar Polke works with found printed matter and layers it on the surface.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The sheet arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The metal hanger holds the sheet steady on the wall for this flat printed image.

It fits a bedroom wall above a low desk. From the bed you see the cut fish shape, and from the doorway the grain of the paper shows in the room light.
