Fishbone Forest — Fine Art

Fishbone Forest shows narrow lines arranged like a row of tall shapes. The lines lean and cross over each other across the sheet. Max Ernst made this in a surrealist style, where familiar forms look a little strange.

The fine art frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the bone shapes easy to read, while a black frame makes the pale lines stand out more.

It works on a narrow hall wall, where you walk past it each day. From there the thin lines look like a grove of bare trees against the plaster.
