Flashes 1992 by Zao Wou-Ki — Fine Art

Flashes 1992 by Zao Wou-Ki shows a field of colour with short bright marks set against a darker ground. The lighter tones sit over deeper blues and greens, so the flashes read as small breaks in a calm surface. The colour stays even and the edges stay open.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the bright marks from shining under a lamp, and the frame gives the image a clean edge.

It works on a kitchen wall above the sink. From the table you see the bright marks first, and when you stand at the counter the darker ground fills the space behind the glass.
